In drama class, we have been perfecting the infamous wall during our mime unit. We have all seen the wall being mimed countless times and we decided that we wanted to try it for ourselves! This was the first time we were miming the wall in front of our classmates. Since, we hadn't done the wall before, we used tape as the place where the wall should be. The video above is a video of me trying to mime the wall using routine pre-prepared!
In this routine, I think that something I did well was that I had a fixed point and didn't usually have one hand too in front or too behind. My hands were normally at equal length on the wall. I also believe that I had a good click but my palms stuck out a bit and were not entirely flat. When, I got over the wall, both of my legs made it over and I mostly maintained the shape of the wall until the very end. Lastly, at the end, I didn't look at the camera and stopped.
In this routine, I also had a lot of things that I needed to work on. When, I came into the wall, I banged too early and looked too prepared as though I knew that there already was a wall. When pulling the wall down, my arms trembled realistically but I pulled down too quickly, I should've pulled down slower to make the wall seem heavier. I also should have put more weight on one hand when changing my grip as I pulled down the wall. Luckily, I did not have a prop and so there were no disappearing props during this routine.
